Engine problems have been a big issue at Daytona this week. Toyota has been dealing with a cam-lifter coating issue with their motors which surfaced in practice for the Budweiser shootout. Representatives from Toyota have said they think they have the problem solved but some teams are still waiting for replacement engines, like the #96 of JJ Yeley who missed most of the last duals practice.

The stranglehold that Chevrolet has at the restrictor plate tracks this decade is astounding. Ever since 2001, a Chevrolet driver has won every race at Daytona and Talladega with the exception of four races. That is 24 out of 28 races, which is roughly 86 percent.
