Four races into its new “Boys, have at it” era, NASCAR officials have a dilemma on their hands. Should they penalize Carl Edwards for intentionally wrecking Brad Keselowski at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday or let him get away with one of the most blatant acts the sport has seen in some time?

Given the general nature of Carl Edwards and his willingness in the past to admit errors, along with NASCAR giving the OK to take the gloves off for the 2010 season, coupled with Keselowski’s reputation for an over-agressive driving style I’d say both drivers are now even, and NASCAR should be able to step in and say enough. I’m sure Edwards is very relieved no injuries occured. Keselowski now knows the repercussions that follow an over-aggressive driving style, and he’s not the first driver who eventually came to that revelation. It’s called growing up playing with the big boys, and this is where mutual respect on the track pays-off. All the NASCAR driver know how to drive aggressively, and very selectively implement those tactics when they know they can get away with it w/o wrecking the rest of the field. However, during the last two laps every driver throws caution to the wind, and the fans love it. Slap Edwards on the hand and lets move on.
